Dr. Marco Palma is a professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University and Director of the Human Behavior Laboratory. His areas of interest are consumer economics, experimental and behavioral economics and neuroeconomics. He uses the lab to facilitate the integration of neurophysiological responses to traditional methods of studying human behavior to better understand, predict, and change behavior that improves people’s health and well-being. Dr. Palma has courtesy appoints in the Department of Economics in the College of Liberal Arts and also in the Department of Public Service and Administration at the Bush School of Government and Public Service.

Founder and CEO of The Brainy Business

Melina Palmer is the founder and CEO of The Brainy Business, which provides behavioral economics consulting to businesses of all sizes from around the world. Her podcast, The Brainy Business: Understanding the Psychology of Why People Buy, has downloads in over 160 countries and is used as a resource for teaching applied behavioral economics for many universities and businesses. Melina obtained her bachelor’s degree in business administration: marketing and worked in corporate marketing and brand strategy for over a decade before earning her master’s in behavioral economics. She has contributed research to the Association for Consumer Research, Filene Research Institute runs the Behavioral Economics & Business column for Inc Magazine and her first book on applied behavioral economics is scheduled for publication in April 2021.
